CASUAL GAMERS: SPORTS ON STAGE AT VINTAGE SELECTION!
From 4 to 7 July 2012 the 20th edition of Vintage Selection will be held at the Stazione Leopolda in
Florence. Vintage Selection is one of the most authoritative and prestigious fair-events in Italy and
Europe dedicated to vintage fashion and design objects & quality remakes.
Call it a research lab with eyes on fashions of the past, or call it a vast archive where today’s
designers find inspiration for their new collections, every edition of Vintage Selection is attended by
growing numbers of exhibitors and visitors. The theme for the 20th edition, Casual Gamers, is about
sports that everyone can – and will – enjoy, even if just for a few days. The Leopolda forecourt will
be transformed into an “amusement park” with a series of sporting activities that are suitable for
everyone, surrounded by the carefree atmosphere of the summertime.
Vintage Selection is not just for enthusiasts, collectors and ordinary people looking for something
original, but also fashion designers and creatives from the style offices of the top international
fashion companies who come to Florence for Pitti Filati, the Pitti Immagine fair which is held at the
Fortezza da Basso at the same time. The synergy with this public of true connoisseurs – which Pitti
Immagine has always cultivated through information and promotional campaigns – is one of the
strengths and distinctive features of Vintage Selection and represents a further boost to the quality,
innovation and stylistic research of its proposals, offering a 360° overview of contemporary culture.

Wednesday 4 July 2012, 10.00 – 11.00 p.m.:
INSERTCOIN
InsertCoin is a duo featuring Diego and Duccio.
United for many years by a passion for various forms of musical expression, after a lengthy
experimental period they selected sounds linked to a common sound wave that they gradually
presented, first and foremost to themselves, in small Tuscan clubs and at parties.
Temporality regulates their sets which embrace 60s vibrations, 70s black rhythms and the first
digital experiments, right up to electronic contemporaneity, with a particular passion for
authenticity and break movements.
Since 2010 they have been composing improbable four-handed vintage-electro tracks.
Thursday 5 July 2012, 10.00 – 11.00 p.m.:
STREET CLERKS
The Street Clerks started out in 2007 when Cosimo Ravenni (bass) met Valerio Fanciano (singersongwriter)
and Alexander Woodbury (Hendrix-style guitarist) and they immediately began playing
on stages around Tuscany, Emilia and Romagna. In the first three years they established themselves
as a high impact live band, with a volatile show ranging from 50s-60s covers to the latest modern
hits rearranged and reinterpreted in a very personal style. The Street Clerks’ live concerts had all
the energy of early rock ‘n’ roll thanks to the explosive bass and virtuous blues of the electric
guitar, but above all it was the melodies and three voice vocal arrangements that made their shows
so fresh and original. In 2010 Francesco Giommi (drummer) joined the group, strengthening the
rhythm section and adding another voice to the arrangements. That summer they published their
first self-produced demo featuring original tracks in English and took part in the festivalcompetitions
“Sulle Note di Ale”, and the Controradio Rock Contest, winning both.
Friday 6 July 2012, 10.00 to 11.00 p.m.:
MAAL BROS
Maal Bros began in Florence in 2005. They are a duo featuring Matteo Cantelli and Alessandro
Tafuro. Their set is characterized by eclectic sounds with 90s house and funky influences.
They have played all the top Florentine clubs. For around three years they have been actively
involved in the Bye Bye Boss project, created and developed in order to organize artistic events that
include all forms of music, with the collaboration of the main venues on the Florentine underground
scene. In 2009 they became the resident band at the Palace and the Casa della Creatività. Since
2010 they have been the resident band at the Doom Club in Florence as part of the IT'S SATURDAY
project, in cooperation with Techfloor Revolution. Since November 2011 they have been residents
and promoters of Sabato al The Box Club. These experiences have resulted in them sharing the
decks with artists of international fame including Edu Imbernon, Coyu, Romano Alfieri, Marco Effe,
Pablo Cahn, Guillaume & De Coutu Dumont, Raresh, James Holden, Radhoo, Rio Padice, Sascha Dive
and many more.
Saturday 7 July 2012, 10.00 – 11.00 p.m.:
THEME SONG & CARTOON PARTY
A selection of the best theme tunes to cartoons, TV series and commercials from the’80s-’90s.

by Radio Toscana, the event’s radio partner.
